A quick survey of the literature -- and, yes, we are counting women's fashion magazines as literature -- shows agreement on at least three trends for Fall 2007:
1. White shirts are in. Lucky magazine calls a crisp white oxford, "Fall's new take on the classics." Seventeen recommends tucking a simple white blouse into high-waist jeans. And In Style says, "White is the new black" and adds that a starched white shirt is both prim and sexy. "Think Grace Kelly or Kim Novak."
2. When it comes to shoes, anything goes and your closet is probably already full of options. Seventeen shows high-top converse, round-
cheap_Louis Vuitton Tahitiennes_shop_usa_uk_12toe platform heels, pointy-toe flats. Teen Vogue shows an ankle- high sneaker made of wine-pink satin. Lucky shows stiletto-heel pumps, stacked-heel pumps, as well as a chunky high-heel Mary Jane in dark blue with a maroon toe and ankle strap. In Style shows ankle boots, tall-cuffed boots, oxford platforms, high heels with rounded toes capped in a contrasting color, flats with a thick strap of elastic over the instep, and colorful satin high-heel evening sandals.
You can update your ballet flats by clipping some jewels or buckles on the toes; or just wear them the way they came, especially if they are leopard print or gold.
3. replica IWC Watches Silhouettes are soft. If you want a sleek look think subtle, not severe. Go for the WWII-era silk dresses and short-sleeve blouses. Pair last year's tough-girl biker jacket with a chiffon skirt or cuddly sweater.
Jackets are either fitted or short and boxy. Pencil skirts are made of mesh or loopy wool or other feminine fabrics. Knee-length skirts don't have to be slim, either. They can be gathered or slightly flared.
replica Hermes Handbags Teen Vogue chose a simple short-sleeve minidress as an important new silhouette. (Think a long T-shirt shape. Picture it belted or worn straight.) Lucky shows a knit cloche hat. Everybody likes long sweater vests.
This season's fashion magazines make it easy to find your own style -- from eclectic to California cool to something vintage, inspired by the 1920s, '40s or '70s.
