2010 Winter Olympics Norway's

WHISTLER, British Columbia -- Petter Northug finally got to do what he does best, and it ended the way it always does.

After getting in position to use his vaunted closing sprint for the first time at the Vancouver Olympics, Northug blew right past Germany's Axel Teichmann to give Norway the gold medal in the men's cross-country team sprint. Teichmann secured the silver medal for Germany, while Russia took bronze.

After being done in by a broken pole in the 30K pursuit -- his favorite event -- and bad skis on the 15K freestyle, there was nothing standing in Northug's way this time.

"I hoped to get my revenge," Northug said. "When I had the spot I had on the last leg, it was up to me again. And here we are."

At last.

Northug had been expected to dominate the cross-country events in Vancouver, but after three events he had only a bronze in the individual sprint. After his mishap in Saturday's pursuit, the triple world champion and World Cup leader was so angry that he refused to speak to reporters after the race -- leading to a storm of criticism and complaints back home.

Now he's smiling again.

"It was great what I did last year (at the worlds), but maybe even bigger today to become Olympic champion," he said. "With the start I had in these championships, maybe it feels even better now to reach my goal."

The freestyle event features a two-man relay, where each skier takes turns going three laps around a 1.6-kilometer course. The Norwegians finished in 19 minutes, 1 second to beat the German duo of Teichmann and Tim Tscharnke by 1.3 seconds. The Russian team of Nikolay Morilov and Alexey Petukhov was 1.5 seconds back in third.

Northug had to do the heavy lifting for Norway throughout the race as his partner Oeystein Pettersen struggled to keep up with his rivals. Pettersen only made the team after sprint specialist Ola Vigen Hattestad pulled out with a sore throat and couldn't match Tscharnke's pace on the fifth lap.

Women cross country

For a couple of veterans who supposedly are past their prime, Claudia Nystad and Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle sure have a lot of spring in their step.

The 32-year-old Nystad pulled away from 23-year-old Anna Haag of Sweden shortly before the finish Monday to give Germany the gold medal in the women's cross-country team sprint at the Vancouver Olympics.

After struggling the past two season, Nystad and Sachenbacher- replica tag heruer watches Stehle returned to the top of an Olympic podium for the first time since being part of Germany's winning relay team in Salt Lake City eight years ago.

"We never lost this dream, and we were always working on it," Nystad said. "It's amazing. You believe in this, and you work for this."

Nystad long has been considered one of the best sprinters on the women's circuit, and she went past the younger Haag as they entered the ski stadium for the final time and pulled away on the final sprint.

The German duo finished in 18 minutes, 3.7 seconds for the gold. The Swedish team of Haag and Charlotte Kalla was 0.6 seconds behind for the silver medal, and Russian duo Irina Khazova and Natalia Korosteleva won bronze after coming in 4 seconds back.

Man, 32, slashed two housemate

GARY Butler was drunk, violent and stupid when he slashed two housemates with a knife.

Butler, 32, was arguing with them over their accommodation arrangements.

He had 10 previous convictions for assault offences, including two while armed.

The knife attack happened on January 21 last year at English Street when Butler's two housemates came home about 5pm after drinking at a hotel for about two hours.

An argument started and Butler told them: "I'm going to stab you. I'm going to kill you," Crown prosecutor Scott Thackeray told the Mackay District Court yesterday.

The two men locked themselves in a room. After a short time they came out and Butler was holding a knife.

He swung it at the 20-year-old man, who put his hand up to protect himself and suffered a wound to his right wrist.

Butler then went for the second man, aged 19, and he also put up his hands to cover himself and suffered a cut wrist and forearm.

One of the victims went to find a phone to call police but Butler caught him and threw him into a window, shattering it.

Butler left the home but was detained by police a short distance away.

Barrister Paddy Cullinane said the fight broke out because one of the men had moved in and had invited the other man to move in without telling Butler.

"This was an act of someone who was grossly frustrated," Mr Cullinane said.

One victim required seven stitches to his knife wound.

The other suffered a five-centimetre laceration to his forearm, which also damaged muscles and tendons. He required surgery and spent three days in hospital.

Butler pleaded guilty to two charges of unlawful wounding.

Judge Julie Dick, SC, said it was clear that Butler was "drunk and stupid" and that he had a violent past.

Butler was jailed for three years.

However, he had already served 393 days in custody, almost 13 months since the day he was arrested, so he was released on parole immediately.

On release from the watch-house he said he was relieved to be out of jail.

"It's good to be out," he said.

Meek New World Fake Watch

Meek New World

I miss the future that we were supposed to have. In the twenty first century. among other fabulous promises Replica Omega. we were all going to fly around in hover cars while wearing silver jump suits with big shoulders. The last time I looked in my garage my car had four wheels and never left the ground (well ralph lauren polos(Replica Corum Watch). not on purpose) and in my closet there is not one shiny silver outfit.

When I was a kid there was a show on called The Twenty First Century which was sort of a science fiction type genre with predictions about what the future of the next generation would look like. I don't recall too much about it. but I remember one episode where they talked about how everyone would have computers and how useful they would be - and I just didn't see it.

I have a lot of fun watching old Science Fiction movies. The one that I just watched that inspired me to write today was ... one of the Planet of the Apes movies. I think it was Return to the Planet of the Apes. The movie opens up with a futuristic cityscape. like about 1980. with chained monkeys in orange cover-alls being led by sadistic. fascist overseers (with whips). They show you a little bit of this(Vacheron Constantin Replica Watch). then underneath they put up the words: "Los Angeles. 1991." Beautiful! Does everybody remember just fourteen years ago when we had monkey slaves in California? Whatever happened to them?

Among other things that were supposed to happen in the 1990s. we had the launch of the Robinson family in Lost in Space Fake Watches. the launch of Khan's renegade ship after the Third World War (the Eugenics War). and the moon being launched out of orbit in Space 1999. Also Replica Hublot Watch. Atlantis was finally supposed to rise from the sea and the Antichrist was supposed to come to power and launch Armageddon. And the world was scheduled to end by any other number of doom-sayers.

An earlier and better example of the future that never wasn't is the novel1984. It's pretty dated now Fake Chanel Watch. but the novel was written by George Orwell in 1948 and was about a dystopian future under a totalitarian system much like we believed Communism was at the time. When the year 1984 did come. all the news magazines and TV shows went nuts with articles and shows about how close we really were to 1984. Not really. There were some handy comparisons between the technology that Orwell speculated about and emerging technology for keeping track of other humans. But that was about it. In America. Elsewhere in the world in more totalitarian countries the comparisons were closer.

When I was a kid I used to love Star Trek(Franck Muller Replica Watch). the original Star Trek. God Fake Watches. when I watch it now(Fake Louis Vuitton Watch). though. I almost want to cringe. For one thing. the special effects are so dated. It was cutting edge back then. I know. but these days even crappy Sci Fi can do so much better. And then its almost hilarious how little they imagined for the future. I keep thinking about their picture phones. each with a huge cathode ray tube in back.

Perhaps my favorite episode for silliness is Spock's Brain. which is a rather infamous one with fans - they don't like it - but I find it hilarious. In Spock's Brain. Spock's Brain is stolen Replica . and the crew of the Enterprise (their space shi...

How to Become an Affiliate Marketer

By:Ernest Kent

Affiliate Marketing is becoming the fastest growing ways to make money online You see ads web pages all the time Guess what? They are affiliate marketing Replica Soccer Jersey.

How affiliate marketing works is鈥?that you sign up for a product to promote, you promote it, someone buys it and you get paid That sounds simple don't it? Well, it is kind of simple You will have to learn how to find the right products to promote and how to promote it, but I'll tell you about that later

First thing first is you need to go to a site like Commission Junction and sign up ghd flat iron. Once you sign up, you can browse what kind of products they offer that you can promote Once you find something there to promote, you can add the code to your site Make sure you pick something that will be compatible with your website Like, if your website is about fixing cars, you find an affiliate program that has do with where to get parts for the car

You need to make sure your affiliate link or banner is somewhere that will get people to notice it and make them want to click on it This up to you/ try different location until you find one that works for you

Once you have that set up the code on your website, you will have to promote the page to get people on the site ghd flat iron. That is somewhat easy to do The best and easy way to do it is to post in forums that is similar to your site and have you site in the signature You can also write articles on sites like this one with your link in the resource portion of the article

Now you might be saying, "what if I don't have a website?" Well, that's fine also, just make a blog about a subject that you know about and go to Commission Junction to find an affiliate product to promote it

Now the key to promoting it, isn't to add it to your blog or website and telling them to click on the link for great deals I have seen people do that but for me, I don't like doing that Let them click if they want to

Also if you don't want to start a blog, you can also use a signature in a forum if you post in the right forums But that's sometimes is frowned upon I have seen people do that before though I'm not sure how much money you can make doing it this way, but you can always try it if that is what you want to do
