Not so much spin, more of a skin freak

2009年11月11日

Men and vanity, it's not an attractive combination. According to one of the gossip columns, when former No10 spin doctor Alastair Campbell appeared on They Think It's All Over, he left something behind in the dressing room - his make-uClip in human hair extensionsp bag.

This is shocking enough, not that he left it, but that he had one. I have never met a man with a make-up bag, even one who works in telly. But the story gets weirder.

Campbell's kit contained, among other things, it is said, some Touche Eclat. Now, many male readers might be looking a bit blank now. 'Touche what?' Touche Eclat is a sort of make-up manufactured by Yves Saint Laurent that covers eye bags and is supposed to make you look instantly radiant.

Porsche Design Replica Watch

For the famously tough cookie Campbell to carry his own Touche Eclat I think is bizarre and I write as someone who once went out with a man who wore a stocking on his head to bed.

He wasn't going to rob a bank in his sleep. He had curly hair which he had straightened and the stocking was to prevent itChanel Replica frizzing up before morning. No, I didn't think it was sexy either.

However that bit of vanity was hair-related, which is pretty standard male stuff. Skin-related vanity is altogether more worrying. Who does Alastair think he is, J-Lo? Next thing you know, he'll be demanding fluffy cushions in hospitality and bottles of Krug for his pet poodle.

Morris on Bradley list isn't Mouse

2009年11月11日

Byline: Jon Lees.

IRISH trainer Michael `Mouse' Morris has been the victim of mistaken identity, writes Jon Lees.

Another Michael Morris, a fashion trade entrepreneur, confirmed he was the man Graham Bradley listed as having links with Brian Wright.

Morris is founder and executive director of Marchpole Holdings, best known as Technomarine Watchthe Yves Saint-Laurent licensee, a brand which once sponsored Frankie Dettori.

He admitted he was an old friend of Wright but had no idea why his name had figured among a list of 37 racing figures.

The list was put together by Bradley and is of people alleged to have links with Wright, the fugitive drugs baron.

Bradley produced the listReplica Chloe in his High Court appeal against his warning off by the Jockey Club for taking money for passing betting information.

Dettori also appeared on the list, along with names such as Kieren Fallon, Tony McCoy, Mick Channon and Michael Tabor, but the Michael Morris named was not Michael `Mouse' Morris.

"My friends told me my name got put in print for a change," said Michael Morris. "I used to sponsor Frankie Dettori and I think I got Graham Bradley an Yves Saint-Laurent suit once.

"I don't think I've seen Brian Wright for about 12 years. I just grew up with him. We were friends from gambling when we weFake Casiore kids. That's it, a very loose connection.

"I'm afraid my name is just there, but I don't know what for. I think the last time I saw Brian Wright was at Ascot when he had a box there and I had my box there and had a drink with him."
